About Us

Turner Equestrian was founded in 2018, after more than twenty years of owning and caring for horses. We knew what it cost to run a yard properly, and we were tired of the trade-off — either pay premium-brand prices, or buy something that fell apart by February.

We started with a haynet. Ours kept failing at the seams and losing their rings within a season, so we designed a stronger one: reinforced rope, metal rings, durable mesh, and a large base ring so filling it isn’t a two-person job. It is still the product we are best known for, and it still sells more units than anything else we make.

What we make

From that haynet we built out a full own-brand range. We design our own products rather than reselling other people’s, which is what lets us keep the specification up and the price sensible.

• Turnout rugs in 0g, 50g, 100g, 200g, 300g and 350g fill, sizes 3’0 to 7’0, built on waterproof, breathable 600D ripstop
• Stable rugs, fleece coolers and fly protection, including full neck combos for horses prone to sweet itch
• Detachable neck covers that clip to the D-rings on any of our rugs 5’0 and up, in four fill weights and ten colours
• Yard essentials — small-hole slow feed haynets, round bale nets, lunging lines, over reach boots, saddle pads
• Saddlery and riding wear, and agricultural workwear and calf jackets for dairy farms and livestock keepers

The one rug, many necks idea

Most rug ranges make you buy a standard rug and a combo rug. We build every turnout rug with integrated D-rings so you can clip a neck cover on when the wind gets up and take it off when it doesn’t. One rug, four fill weights of neck, ten colours — instead of two rugs and a compromise.

Where we are

We are based in Holmfirth, West Yorkshire, on the edge of the Pennines — which is a useful place to find out whether a rug is genuinely waterproof. Everything we sell is tested in the weather it is built for.

Since 2018 we have supplied thousands of horse owners across the UK, and increasingly the agricultural sector too. We keep reviewing and expanding the range to meet what customers actually ask for, and we always want to hear what is missing.
